Hiking Package  “Day 5.”

This guided hike takes us to the summit (1394m.) of Santiago, the "Pico d'Antonia".

After breakfast we transfer by Landrover to “Monta Chotta” at an altitude of more than 1000m.

From here we walk along donkey trails through a "wooded" area to "Riba Achade".

After "Riba Achade" the landscape gradually changes from end "wooded area" to some pine trees, finally in a mountainous landscape.

Arrived at the summit we have  a breathtaking view of the entire island.

Here we will have a lunch (from the lunchbox) and take a break before we start the descend to "Monte Chotta".

For this trip we  depend on the weather. There should not be too much wind and the "Pico d'Antonia" should not be in the clouds.

If there is too much wind and / or clouds, we will make an alternative  hike.

From "Monte Chotta" to "Pico d'Antoinia" and back is about 4-5 hours hiking. From  "Monte Chotta" to the guesthouse is about 1 hour drive.

Depending on the time of departure from "Monte Chotta" there might be the possibility to make a short stop at "Rui Vaz".

Day Hike “Pico d’Antonia”.
